DUBROVNIK AT FIRST GLANCE
A world famous Croatian city
George Bernard Shaw said: “Those who are looking for paradise on earth should come and see Dubrovnik”.
Indeed, as one of the few cities in the world still surrounded by its original mediaeval walls, Dubrovnik is a real magnet for travellers from all over the world.
The city lies in the southernmost part of Croatia, on the spot where the Mediterranean meets the Balkan hinterland. Its Old Town, located at the foot of 412-metre-high Srđ Hill, is an important part of the world’s cultural heritage under the protection of UNESCO.
As you walk along its mediaeval walls or the sun-drenched Stradun next to the monumental buildings, you’ll feel like you’re in a movie, carried away by the beauty of Mediterranean life.
Oases of peace outside the bustling Old Town can be found on the neighbouring uninhabited island of Lokrum and on the Babin kuk peninsula, whose wonderful beaches offer views of the enchanting Elaphiti Islands.
The food is no less attractive, from fresh seafood to Pelješac wines and fantastic desserts such as arancini or the Dubrovnik rožata that melts in your mouth.
